PRIVACY POLICY FOR HOMECOMM SERVICE
HomeComm is committed to protect the User's privacy while
using the HomeComm Service. Please read the following
Privacy Policy to understand how the User's personal information
will be treated as the User makes use of HomeComm's many
offerings. This Privacy Policy may change from time to
time so please check back periodically.
1. WHAT INFORMATION IS COLLECTED FROM THE USER?
HomeComm collects information in several ways from the
different tools and applications of the HomeComm Service.
HomeComm will ask for "User Information" which
includes but is not limited to the User's name, email
address, birth date, gender, postcode, occupation, industry
and personal interests.
The more information the User volunteers (and the more
accurate it is), the better HomeComm will be able to customize
the User's experience. Once the User registers, the User
is no longer anonymous to HomeComm - the User is given
a HomeComm User Name and is able to take full advantage
of the many HomeComm Services.
HomeComm may also ask the User for personal information
at other times, including (but not limited to) when the
User enters a contest or promotion sponsored by HomeComm
and/or HomeComm's partners; when the User makes a purchase;
when the User posts a HomeComm Classified Ad; when the
User contributes to the HomeComm Directory Listing; when
the User submits a listing for a web site; and when the
User reports a problem with one of HomeComm Services.
HomeComm also occasionally asks Users to complete surveys
for research purposes.
HomeComm is made up of many sites, and new ones are added
all the time. At this time, the HomeComm Privacy Policy
applies to those sites which display this statement in
conjunction with the privacy notice on the site's Web
pages. While HomeComm encourages other sites on the HomeComm
platform to comply with these principles, Users should
carefully examine the privacy statements of sites appearing
on or linking to or from HomeComm which do not display
this statement. The personal information that the User
chooses to provide in other sites will be subject to the
privacy policies of those sites.
Wherever User Information is collected, HomeComm makes
an effort to include a link to this Privacy Policy on
that page.

 |
2. HOW IS THE USER INFORMATION USED?
HomeComm's primary goal in collecting personal information
is to provide the User with a more personalised and customized
experience on HomeComm's platform. This includes personalization
and customised services, interactive communications, individual
applications, online shopping and many other types of
services.
Also, in order to be able to provide the most competitive
charges, HomeComm displays or transmits targeted advertisements
by way of the Service, in accordance with the User preferences
indicated by the User at the time of registration. Such
User preferences can be changed at any time by the User.
In addition, HomeComm does research on Users' demographics,
interests, and behavior based on the information provided
upon registration, during a promotion, from HomeComm's
server log files or from surveys, in order to better understand
and serve Users. Such research data may be shared with
advertisers or business partners.

 |
3. WHO USES USER INFORMATION?
HomeComm stores the User Information in a secure operating
environment that is not available to the public. The User
is only sharing information with HomeComm, unless it is
specifically stated otherwise. If it is necessary for
HomeComm to share the User information with other business
partners and sponsors to provide certain co-branded services
to the User, then the User will be given prior notification,
so that the User is given an option not to allow the sharing
of the user information if so required.
Please be aware that the web sites on the HomeComm platform
may collect personally identifiable information about
the User. The information practices of the web sites linked
to HomeComm are not covered by this Privacy Policy.

|
 |
4. DOES HOMECOMM SHARE THE USER
INFORMATION ?
As a general rule, HomeComm will not share or disclose
any of the User Information except when HomeComm has the
User's permission or under special circumstances, such
as when HomeComm believes in good faith that the law requires
it or under certain circumstances as described in the
Terms of Service Agreements (TOS).
Another situation where the User Information may be shared
is when the User makes a purchase from a web page hosted
by HomeComm, the information obtained during the User's
visit to the web pages, and the information the User gives
such as the User's credit card number and contact information,
is provided to the merchants/sellers. Such merchants/sellers
have separate privacy and information collection practices.
HomeComm has no responsibility or liability for these
independent policies.
Under confidentiality agreements, HomeComm may need to
match User Information with third party information. For
such purposes, HomeComm may disclose aggregated user statistics
in order to describe HomeComm Services to current and
prospective partners, advertisers, and other third parties,
and for other lawful purposes.
HomeComm may also disclose account information in special
cases when there is reason to believe that disclosing
this information is necessary to identify, contact or
bring legal action against Users who may be violating
HomeComm's TOS or may be causing injury to or interference
with HomeComm's rights or property. In such cases HomeComm
may disclose or access User Information when it is believed
in good faith that the law requires it and for administrative
and other purposes that HomeComm deems necessary to maintain,
service, and improve HomeComm Services.

5. USER CAN RESTRICT THE USER INFORMATION
THAT IS COLLECTED, USED, AND DISTRIBUTED.
On some types of HomeComm promotions, the User's email
address will be asked in order to update the User on the
User's score, entries, and status in prize drawings. Occasionally
these promotion-related email messages may include targeted
advertisements. When the User participates in these types
of promotions, the User automatically receive promotion-related
email, unless the User chooses the no-email option that
some promotions offer.
HomeComm may, from time to time, send the User email regarding
HomeComm Services. In addition, if the User indicates
upon registration that the User is interested in receiving
offers or information about certain areas and matters,
occasionally User will receive direct mail about products
and services that may be of interest to the User. Only
HomeComm (or agents working on behalf of HomeComm and
under confidentiality agreements) will send the User these
direct mailings and only if the User indicates that the
User does not object to these offers. If the User does
not want to receive such mailings, simply inform HomeComm
when the User gives the User Information.
The User also has choices with respect to cookies. By
modifying the User browser preferences, the User has the
choice whether to accept all cookies, to be notified when
a cookie is set, or to reject all cookies. If the User
chooses to reject all cookies the User will be unable
to use those HomeComm Services that require registration
in order to participate.
HomeComm does not sell or rent User information to anyone.
The User will be notified at the time of information collection
or transfer if the User Information will be shared with
a third party and the User will always have the option
of not permitting the transfer. If the User does not wish
to allow the User Information to be shared, the User can
choose not to use a particular service or not to participate
in certain promotions or contests.
Please keep in mind that whenever the User voluntarily
discloses User Information online - for example on message
boards, through email, or in chat areas - that information
can be collected and used by others. In short, if the
User posts personal information online that is accessible
to the public, the User may receive unsolicited messages
from other parties in return. Ultimately, the User is
solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of the
User's User Name and Password and/or any account information.
|
|
 |
6. USER IS ALLOWED TO UPDATE, CORRECT,
OR DELETE USER INFORMATION.
The User may edit the User information at any time by
using the User Name and Password. The User Account can
also be deleted or deactivated, but doing so will result
in not being able to access any subscribers-only area
of the HomeComm platform, including the User HomeComm
Mail account (if the User has one). However, residual
information will remain within HomeComm's archive records.
|
|
 |
7. HOMECOMM PROTECTS THE LOSS, MISUSE,
OR ALTERATION OF THE USER INFORMATION.
The User Information and User Profile are password-protected
so that only the User has access to this personal information.
We recommend that the User does not divulge the UserName
and Password to anyone. HomeComm will never ask the User
for the User's password in an unsolicited phone call or
in an unsolicited email. Always remember to sign out of
the User Account and close the User browser window to
ensure that others cannot access the User's personal information
and correspondence if the User shares a computer with
someone else or is using a computer in a public place
like a library or Internet café.

8. HOW DOES HOMECOMM USE COOKIES?
As part of offering and providing customizable and personalized
services, HomeComm uses cookies to store and sometimes
track information about the User. Cookies are pieces of
information that a Web site transfers to the User computer's
hard disk for record-keeping purposes. All sites on HomeComm
where the User is prompted to log-in or that are customizable
require that the User accept cookies. Generally, HomeComm
uses cookies to :
Recall
the identity of the User and to access the User account
information (stored on HomeComm's servers and equipment)
in order to deliver to the User a better and more personalized
service. This cookie is set when the User registers or
clicks the "Sign In" button and is modified
when the User clicks the "Sign Out" button and
exits HomeComm Services.
Estimate
HomeComm's audience size. Each browser accessing HomeComm
is given a unique cookie which is then used to determine
the extent of repeat usage, usage by a registered User
versus by an unregistered User, and to help target advertisements
based on user interests and behavior. This is important
because HomeComm aims to meet the individual needs of
each User.
Measure
certain traffic patterns, which areas of HomeComm's platform
the User has visited, and the User's visiting patterns
in the aggregate. HomeComm uses this research to understand
how the Users' habits are similar or different from one
another so that HomeComm can make each new experience
on the HomeComm platform a better one.
Track
the User's progress and number of entries in some of HomeComm's
promotions, sweepstakes and contests. When a HomeComm-hosted
promotion uses cookies, the information written to the
cookie indicates the player's progress through the promotion,
and may be used to track entries, submissions, and status
in prize drawings.
Assist
merchants in HomeComm to track visits to and business
at their stores, and to process the items in the User's
shopping basket. The information collected by cookies
are sometimes called "clickstream" or "click
trail" and may also describe which pages the User
has seen in each merchant's store.
We
use cookies to deliver content specific to your interests
and to save your password so you don't have to re-enter
it each time you visit our site.
HomeComm
may also use this information to better personalize the
content, banners, and promotions that the User will see
on the HomeComm platform. Advertising networks that serve
ads onto HomeComm may also use their own cookies. HomeComm
also collects IP addresses for system administration and
to report aggregate information to HomeComm's advertisers.
In addition, HomeComm Mail includes IP addresses in outgoing
mail message headers.
