INTRODUCTION
Putrajaya, covering an area of 4,931 hectares of land, is situated 25 kilometres from the capital city of Kuala Lumpur in the north and 20 kilometres from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at Sepang in the south.Putrajaya is the new Administrative Centre of the Federal Government of Malaysia. Situated within the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC), the development of Putrajaya marks a new chapter in the history of modern city planning in Malaysia. It is set to be a model garden city with sophisticated information network base on multimedia technologies.
Termed as Malaysia's first Intelligent Garden City, Putrajaya will become a vital development catalyst due to the role it will assume as a model city - as the nerve centre of the nation and an ideal place to live, work, conduct business and engage in sports and recreational activities.
About 40% of Putrajaya is natural. Lush greenery, botanical gardens are spread across the landscape enhanced by large bodies of water and wetlands. Five confluences meet at the north forming a main waterway which flows across the city area.
Architecturally, Putrajaya will be an indigenous city with a modern look. Planned to the most minute detail, this intelligent garden city will enhance the goal of the nation in nurturing a caring and progressive society.

GENERAL ATTRACTIONS
Putra MosquePutra Mosque is named in honour of our former and first Prime Minister of Malaysia Almarhum Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al–Haj. It is one of the main⁄top symbol in Putrajaya which is located beside ‘Dataran Perdana’ and in front of ‘Putrajaya Lake’. The mosque was started to build in June 1997. It was ready and given to JAKIM on 1st of September 1999. It took 2 years to complete the building of the mosque.
The capacious of the mosque is 1.37 hectar. The start of the mosque area begins from the main door till the inside of the mosque. Meanwhile, ‘Dataran Putra’ and Souq is not in the area⁄surrounding of the mosque. The mosque was build by Y. Bhg. Dato′ Dr. Nik Mohammad Bin Mahmood of Senireka Sdn. Bhd. group which cost almost RM 250 million. The Maintenance cost was estimated RM 100 thousand. This mosque was build based on two concepts which are ‘Middle East’ and ‘Malay Tradition’.
Putrajaya Lake
At the very heart of Putrajaya is the Putrajaya Wetland with a natural landscape dominated by Putrajaya Lake, The Lake and Wetland are two of the most distinctive features of the city.
The 650-hectare Putrajaya Lake is designed to act as a natural cooling system for the city and for recreation, fishing, water sports and water transport.
For the water in the lake to be clean enough for body contact, water sports and recreational activities, a wetland was constructed to remove pollutants and to clean the water before it enter the lake.
Putrajaya Bridge
With a span of 435 metres, the Putra Bridge connects the Government Precinct at its north and the Mixed Development Precinct at its south, while linking Dataran Putra with the Boulevard.
Architecturally it is similar to the Khalu Bridge in Isfahan, Iran. The upper level of the Bridge is actually part of the Boulevard and connects to Dataran Putra and Perdana Putra.
This unique twin-deck bridge not only provides vehicle, light rail and pedestrian access, it can also accommodate restaurants with its main pillar supports.
Putra Boating Club House
Opened to the public in November 2001, the boating club house can accommodate 250 people at any one time for functions. Its is located close to Putrajaya's marine police. Arrangements can be made for visitors to rent non-motorised boats such as canoes.
