Aziz Sheikh Fadzir Invites Zulkifli Nordin To Umno

KULIM, March 7 (Bernama) -- Kulim/Bandar Baharu Umno division head Datuk Abdul Aziz Sheikh Fadzir has invited Zulkifli Nordin, who was sacked from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), to use Umno as his platform to serve the people.

"As YB Zul (Zulkifli) no longer believes in the direction and principles of the PKR, he can use Umno as his platform to serve the people," said Abdul Aziz, who is also a member of the Umno Supreme Council.

The expulsion of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kulim/Bandar Baharu was clear proof that there was no democracy in the opposition party, he told Bernama.

Zulkifli, who was expelled from the PKR on Saturday, said he wanted to be an Independent MP to continue to serve the people.

In KUALA LUMPUR, Puteri Umno head Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin said Zulkifli's expulsion would show the people the real agenda of the party, which was to fight for the cause of its top leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

She said Zulkifli's openness in issuing a statement on religion, race and country had displeased the PKR leadership and went against the party's real agenda which was to topple the Barisan Nasional (BN) government and make Anwar as the Prime Minister.

"That's why, when Zulkifli Nordin voiced his opinion on such matters, it had caused uneasiness among Anwar's people and had rattled Anwar Ibrahim himself," she said.

Rosnah, who is also the Deputy Health Minister, said the PKR, which claimed to uphold the concept of transparency and willingness to be criticised, clearly did not 'practice what it preaches' when it expelled Zulkifli.
